SHEARERS' STRIKE.
Is" this issuo Mr Kerry, formerly a resident in Hamilton, advertises for 20 or 30 shearers. These ho proposes to engage to proceed to Sydney, under arrangement with the Past.ua'ists' Union nf New South Wales. The following is a copy of tho letter Mr Kerry received from the secretary of this association in reply to one he had wi it ten to them on the sul ject;—Mr R Kerry : I have your favour of the. 7th .July, asking if we would require any fiee labour. Tll reply, I. may say that I shall bo elad if you could pick up 20 or 30 good shearers and come over as soon as y..n can. We will make, an allowance of say 30s per head on account of travelling expenses. Please present this letter at tho local olticos of tho Union Steamship Company, and I think they will sec you through. I may add that we will guarantee you at least four months' work, and shall expect to see you at an oarly boat. Please report yourself at this office immediately on arrival.
