An a,valanche of earth, 00 acres in extent, swept down the side of the mountain with a, fearful roar, and ongulphed one residence, the occupants of which ."'scaped with difficulty. One lady was buried in the debris, but was rescued. She however, had her leg broken, besides sustaining other injuries. July Hi. The fund for the relief of the sufferers by the floods has reached tho sum of i'oooo. Owing to tho deposit of slimy filth, it is feared that unless groat precaution is taken an epidemic of sickness will result. The latest estimate of the damage is £500,000. July 17. The flood water has vanished, and ii. scone of desolation and wreck is revealed. Much sickness, mainly attributed to exposure, is prevalent hero. Svdxky, July 10. Jlailway communication with Melbourne has he en resumed. The washaway extended over a length of -1 miles. The Murray is rising i apidly, and floods in the Albury district are feared.
