A i-TKitC'E drunken affray took place at San Diego, when; a, number of sailors from the United States cruiser Charleston, which has recently returned after the chase of the Chilian insurgent steamer Itata, aided by several civilians, resisted the arrest of a comrade by the police. Th,-* laltcr used their batons freely, and in the melee one sailor was killed and another fatally wounded. Two policemen were rather badly hurt.
