Tho engine of tho latter was shunting on a siding at the cattle yards having left on the main line a dozen trucks and a guard's van. In some unaccountable manner these started off towards Bnrnside on a down grade. A passenger train was stationary at Bnrnside ~ but the driver having his attention drawn to the moving trucks immediately basked his engine, but before he could go any distance the guards van collided with the engine with terrible force. The passenger train being in motion minimised the force of the collision, but the engine buffer was broken and the van much damaged. No one was hurt. ____________
