MARSH MEADOWS SCHOOL.
The teacher at Marsh Meadows school (Miss Y. Nicholson) has been compelled to resign through ill-health. The exceptionally cold frosty weather we have been experiencing during tho last month was more than she could stand, and her medical adviser recommended her to seek a more genial clime. Very general regrot, both by parents and children, was expressed when it became known that she had made up her mind to leave. The proeress the children have mado within the short time (eight months) since Miss Nicholson opened the Bchi-nl is perfectly wonderful, and tho following address handed to her on the eve of her departure will show the feeling which existed between teachur and pupils. Miss Nicholson presented almost every pupil with a suitable present, and they in return presented her with a short address expressive of their regret, signed by every child on the roll (31), every one of them being present. Tho following is a copy of tlio address: "Marsh Meadowß,24thJune,lßl)l. My Dkak Miss Nicholson,—lt is with sincere sorrow that we have heard that you have been compelled through ill-health to make up your mind to leave Marsh Meadows school, which we regrot very much ; and we cannot allow you to leave us without expressing our sorrow that your health is such as to necessitate that course. Wo have every reason to keep you ever in memory—you being the first teacher and we the first scholars of Marsh Meadows school, and for the very kind way you always treated us in our many shortcomings and childlike proclivities; and we hope and trust that your health may .soon be restored to you. —Wo remain, dear Miss Nicholson, your pupils." (Hero follow the thirty-one signatures).
