PUHIPUHI.
COLLAPSE IN THE PKICE OF SHARKS.
(UY TELKOKAI'H—OWX COKUKSPONIIKXT.) Auckland, List Night, BHA3KS in the Puhipuhi Prospectors' Mine fell rapidly this afternoon, in consequence of the following telegram being posted in thu ]'j<chango:—''Assay v.ilhb of Puliipnlii, 7d per oz." The result was suon apparent, for when tho brokers met this afternoon there were sellers at Is Cd, but no buyers. As sailors were quoted at 5s yesterday, with buyers a shilling lower, and sales were made at the latter rate, tho depreciation in value is a considerable matter. Mr A. White states that tho shares are right enough, as he believes that by some means the silver has gone down tho creek and the copper was saved. The holders of shares will, no doubt, have sufficient faith to await the result of further tests.
