TE AROHA ELECTION.
Mh Baoxall, of Turua, who has been frequently mentioned as a probable candidate for ihi! Te Arohfi seat, addressed a meeting of the electors at Te Aroha on Monday evening last. Previous to tho meeting, Mr Wells, of Cambridge, presented Mr Bagnail with a petition signed by a large number of influential electors .from tho Cambridge end of the electorate, promising him their support in the event of his deciding to contest the seat. Some tune ago, it will ho remembered, Mrliignall publicly stated that ho would contest the seat provided ho obtained a sufficiently numevously-sipmed requisition that would hold out a fair show of success ; but as we have hoard r,f no other requisition except the Cambridge one, it is presumed Mrliagnall docs uot consider this sufficiently encouraging, as he has definitely decided not to contest t.ho seat. Dr. Ijroomo, however, will step into the gap, and prevent it bycoiiiing a, duel betweenHir Walter Buller and Colonel I , rasor, the only other candidates in tin' field.
