Sheop Inspector, there being; piescnt: Mr Thomas Monin (chairman), =• fid Messrs f/iwiv, James Wallace, and McLaughlin, The iirst matter discussed was the desirableness of taxing stallions with a view to improve tin; breed of horses. It. was resolved that a tax of five guineas be levied on every stallion, subject to its having passed an examination by a dnly qualified veterinary surge-on, and proved to he sound : that the fee should be levied by the Stock Department, and that after paying incidental expenses the surplus he p,iven to the Agricultural S >cietie-s as prizes for stallions.—After discussion on the disease :1111>11the sheep in the Tauraiitra district, it was resolved ihit Professor Thomas be associated with .Mr .McLean, the (J.ivernni"nt veterinary surgeon, to inquire into this matter. —Mr MeL"an, who is about to proceed to Taiiranga to make a preliminary inve-tipation into the sheep disease, will be accompanied by Mr Clifton, Chief Inspector of Stock".
