Om Momliiy the Government- took steps to enforce the notice served oil ex-Queeu Natalie, ordering her to quit the country, and at their direction she was seized and thrust into a carriage, which was then driven along tlif) quay, escorted by a body of gondii rnics. The news of Natalie's seizure quickly spread, ami a crowd soon surtounded the vehicle. Without much difficulty the indignant populace rescued tini ox-Queen from the limbs of the law, and conveyed her back to her residence. The principal merchants and all the students in the city disapprove of the action of the Government. and are upholding tile cause of Natalie. Hundreds of people are guarding her residence to prevent her recapture by tho officers of the Government. In the evening a- good deal of fighting took place in the streets of the city, and two of the Queen's supporters were killed. Latw. Within half an hour of the rescue of ex-Queen Natalie, .}()<) of her supporters assembled to guard her palace. At d-nvn the Gendarmes forced their way through the guard, .and arousing the Queen, invited her to leave peaceably.
