Those include : Australian Squadron, £20,000; census, £15,000 ; Property Assessment Court, £11!,000 ; increased interest, t'52,000. It i.s understood that tho Govern men t will grant tho liiilway Commissioners the £-10,000 applied for, on their providing a list of the proposed expenditure. The (riii'ormncnt will be indirectly represented at the Vienna Postal Conference, Sir Dillon Bell being prevented attending by illness. The Public Trust Commission finished taking evidence this afternoon, and the report will be presented to tho Government next week. The .Solicitor-General and the Property-tax Commissioner were examined to-day. A driver, William Coley, who was injured at Koxton on .Monday, died last night without recovering consciousness.
