Atelecjram fnim Wanganui to-day states that a party of S dvation'sts conducting a Maori inis'siim on the Wanganui River were capsized from a canue in the rapid', and Lieut. Robert Maekie, a young man 28 years of ago, whose parents live in Auckland, was drowned. There is only too pond reason to believe, that the young man who met his death is a son of Mr Peter Mackie, Hepburn-street.
