Km: i.an'.— There were not any nominations received by the chairman, and on the evening «f Monthly, -'7th hist., so few householders attended that the election of the school committee did not tako place. This H the second voir that the same thing has happened. There seems to be no provision made in the amended Act of last session for ad.i turning; therefore the Board will liavn to call fur a fresh election. WAirKTUNA.— As only seven householders were nominated they were duly elected, viz., Win. Armstrong, John Moon, Charles Sweetman, Jas. La Trobo. W. P. Cogswell, Henry A. Wallis, and W. 11. Walhs. The report of the committee was read, Mr Cogswell acting as chairman of the householders' meeting. After this the first meeting of the newly-elected committee took place, and Mr \\. H. Wallis was again elected chairman. The chairman and Mr La TYobe were authorised to sign cheques. It was resolved to charge 2s lid rent pur week from 31st March last "for the teacher's residence, now in the occupation of Mr Harsant. It w:is also resolved to get up an entertainment at the school for the purpose of raising funds to pay off the debt for painting ; sundry repairs were also resolved upon. The school is only allowed to per yoar, and during the past year the Board have held back £2 towards tho cost of painting, thus leaving only £3 for cleaning the school, supplying firewood, and keeping the liuilding in repair. The Hoard have certainly been anything but generous or lavish with their money in this district. Tic Mata.— The election for this district took place on Monday, April 27th. The following nominations were received, viz.. Mesns Vernon, Jerome, Logan, Bay, Billington, Galvan, Calvert, McCracken, and Mould. On going to tho ballot, Messrs ' Vernon, Jenme, Logan, Bay.
