HAMILTON AMATEUR DRAMATIC COMPANY.

A MEETING of tho Hamilton Amateur Dramatic Company was held last Monday evening in the Public and Volunteer Hall, Mr .Tames Reid in tho chair. The Secretary (Mr Oeorge Parr) read the report re tho late production of the " Shanghraun." The company, notwithstanding the heavy liabilities they incurred in placing a drama of such an extensive character as the "Shanghraun" before a Hamilton audience, tind that they have a small balance to the good, which speaks very highly of the support accorded to them by the inhabitants of the Waikato district generally. The company, having been requested by a large number of people (including several prominent settlers who wero detorred from seeing the performance at that time owing to the inclemency of tho weather), to give another repetition of the " Shanghraun, have decided to do so on Thursday, 2Sth inst., on which occasion several of the most striking scenes will bo considerably enhanced by lime and magnesium light effects. It will no dtmbt give great pleasure to the Hamiltonians to learn that the company unanimously agreed to make the next performance complimentary to Mr James R-jid, their popular and indefatipablo stage manager. The meeting concluded by giving a hearty vnte of thanks to Messrs John Knox, (i. C. Manning, and R. F. Sandes for their valuable and practical assistance during ihe production of the "Shanghraun."
