THE LICENSING OF STALLIONS.
The Waikato Farmers' Club has received the following circular from the Chief Inspector of Stock at Wellington Stock Department, Wellington, llth April, IS'.ll. —Sir, —Tho Honourable the Minister for Agriculture having been requested to legislate, re the licensing of stallions,_ is anxious to obtain au expression of opinion thereon. 1 am, therefore, directed to ask you to kindly place the matter before your club, and advise me of the result of its deliberations.—l have &c., Ritchie, Chief Inspector of Stock." —The above was forwarded to the chairman of the Club bv Mr E. Clifton, Chief Inspector for the Auckland district. The matter was di-cusseil in Committee on Saturday last, when it was decided to bring the matter forward at the next, ordinary meeting of the Club, which will be held at Cambridge on May I,S;h. As it is a matter of considerable importance, not, rmly to owners of stallions but also to breeders of horses, and indeed to farmers generally, we trust there will be a good attendance of the members that the question may be thoroughly discussed.
