REEFTON, Last Night. .Somi; travellers from Wostport to Keefton yesterday afternoon roport the miraculous escape of ft hawker named Howell, the proprietor ot a van known as " Noah's Ark," which peddles between Nelson and Westpart. The van and three horses fell over a precipice between 80 and 100 ft. deep, near Hawk's Craig, into the Bullor river. Sewell also fell over, but the shrubbery broke his fall. The van was smashed, but Sewell oscaped and clambered on to the road with only his head cut. The road contractors hastened to his assistar.ee. It is not known whether the horses were rescued.

CIIKISTCHUKCII, Last Night. At a meeting of the late J. B. Cresson's creditors held this afternoon Messrs A. MaKellar and A. M. M. Oliver were appointed trustees ill place of Mr Henderson resigned. 11 was resolved by twenty-seven creditors representing £16,830, to three, representing £3102, to allow the widow to keep the furniture and effects in the house. A statement was made on behalf of Hon. E. B. Gresson that the estate was indebted to hini for £23,901. It was stated, however, that he did not intend to press his claim, but would allow it to remain in the estate for the benefit of the general body of creditors.

At the K.M. Court, Francis Innos, brewer, was fined £10 for a breach of the Trade Marks Act by, selling colonial porter in bottles with English labels.

NAPIER Last night. At the K. M. Court a man was fined £10 and £3 10s costs, for soothing quail out of season.
