Auckland, La.it Night, litis afternoon Inspector lir.>hnm received a telegram from Constable .Joyce, stationed at Tairua, stating that a Maori named Tautiiri I'apeta committed suicide by hanging himself to the rafters of a whare at \Vharekarai, where sonio other natives found him dead at daylight this morning. This forenoon H.M.s. Rapid was floated out of the Calliope (iraving Dock, having been thoroughly cleaned and re-coppered. She leaves hero on .Saturday for tho New Hebrides, whence she goes on to .Sydney.
