(I!V TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last. Night. A few days ago the Ministers were asked by Jndgo Kdwards to allow themselves to be represented, by counsel in the Aldridge cise and maintain his judgment by opposing tho motion for a writ to give warrants. They replied, declining to tako any part in the court proceedings, on the ground that they do not recognise Mr Edwards as a judge. The Promier states that almost immediately after taking office the Government wrote to tho Chief Justice protesting against Mr Kdwards taking any judical business till Parliament should deal with his case, and having done this they acknowledge no further responsibility till the mattor comes bofnrn the House.
