MINERS' CONGRESS.

(IIY KLECTHIO ra.KOIUI'H—COrYKIUHT.) P.vitiy, April 5. The Miners' Congress has passed a resolution requesting the various Governments to legislate in the direction of having eight hours recognised as a day's work, and threatening that, unless this is done, a general strike will take i>lace. April G.

Tho Miners' Congress, before authorising a universal strike, lias agreed lit the request of the European Governments, to arrange an international convention, which will decree eight hours as a limit of labour. The Congress lias resolved to support the Belgians if Ifaey strike.
