(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH, —COPYRIGHT,) Sydney, April ft. The committee resumed at 11 a.m. The clause making the GovernorGeneral the sole channel of communication with the Queen was carried. An amendment was passed to the effect that it be not necessary to reserve any proposed alteration in tho constitution. An amendment was proposed to the effoct that it be not Decessary to reserve any proposed alteration in the constitution of any State until the Quoon's pleasure bo made known. This was negatived, and Sir G. Grey moved that it be not necessary to reserve for the Queen's pleasure laws made by the Federal Parliament. This was also negatived by 30 to 9. Sir H. Atkinson and Sir G. Grey voted for the amendment, and Cti.pt. Russell against it. The clause \ras then passed. A long debate ensued on the question oi conferring power on States to determine the manner of appointment of the Governor of the State, the clause being retained by one vote.
The Conslitftlttor. BQI is nearly completed, and there is every probability that the convention will close to-night or to-morrow.
