RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT NGARUAWHIA.
McCarthy v. Sunderland and Potter.— Mr Dyer appeared for the plaintiff and Mr O'Neill for the defendants. This caso was in part heard at a previous court. Plaintiff claimed £100 for work done. For the defence evidence was given that the major part of tho work hud been douu for Messrs Potter aud Sunderland junrs., and not for the defendants. Defendants also pleaded a set off.—Verdict for the plaintiff for £1 15s and costs.
Harsant v. Guthrie.— This was also an adjourned case which was advanced a stage by the examination of James Gall, and again adjourned till next court on account of illneßS of the defendant. Mr Swarbrick (for Air Hay) for the plaintiff, aud Mi O'Neill for the defendant.
McCabty v. MoKiNNON Buns.—This was a claim for wages—£l 12s less £2 I s money paid—Mr Dyer for plaintiff, Mr Swarbrick (for Mr Hay) for defendant. The evidence for tho defence showed that the plaintiff was not in tho service of defendant, but was sent by his employer to assist. —The plaintiff was nonsuited with costs.
