HUNTLY MINING DISASTER.

DEATH OF HYNDMAN

TllKunfoitimatemanS. Hyiidman who sustained such lovere injuries in attempting the rescue of John Casby, one of tho victims in the late mining accident at Muntly, nfter lingering for soveral mjntlis, succumbed to his injuries in tho Waikato Hospital yesterday at about 3 o'clock. Although at first thoru wero some hopes entertained of Hyndmau's recovery, after a few weeks as little or no improvement set in, it was looked upon us merely a question of time .vhou death would relieve tho .-offerer. Hyndmnn throughout, has borne his alllictioii with great fortitude, and without a word of complaining.and it was always a source of ,-egret with him that his efforts to save poor Casby had been fruitless, and this seemed at all times to bo the uppermost thought in the poor fellow's mind. Very general sympathy will be evoked for his sorrowing widow in her bereavement, and this case almost above all others domatids a sub'tantial recognition from the public. Mr« Hyndman—who for some time past has been resident in Hamilton, in order to be near her husband, and has keen almost a daily visitant at the Hospital—arrived just in time to be with her husband in his last moments, but unfortunately he was not able to speak to her.
