TE AWAMUTU.
Waii'A Rai'im; Ci.on.—At a meeting, held at the Commercial Hotel a few days aao, it was decided to resuscitate the old H'aipa Racing Club, and to hold a meeting during tho month of May next. .Messrs Storey, Taylor, Lyons, Ahier, Brown, Gibson aiul Scott were appointed stewards, and a programme is now under llieir consideration. It is pleasing to note that the raciug spirit has not, as was generally supposed, died out in this district, but that 'i'e Awainutu is, in the future, to have aa good, if not better, meetings than those of past years. The club possesses one of the finest courses in tho Auckland district, and with the stewards above-named, together with Mr G. Cruickshank as secretary, to work in its interests, there is little doubt but that the meeting will be looked forward to by all with favour. Tin; Wisathei:.— I The weather here has broken, and rain is falling at intervals, accompanied with cold, westerly winds.
