Hodgson, S. Bates, J. McCuirk, and J. U. Thompson. The usual routine business having been gone through, the tenders for two largo culverts (labour only) on the Te Rore and Harapepe road, were opened. Three were received: J. Monro, £27; (!■ Suiith, £W: F. Bolton, £0 10s, the latter was accepted. Tho Board elected Mr A. S. Sherrett to be clerk for the ensuing year iu placo of Mr Jamas Sherrett resigned. It also passed a vote of thanks to the latter tor his many years' service to the Board, and the able aud efficient manner in which he has always performed his work. Mr .lames Sherrett has left this district having obtained a situation as manager on a large farm or run down the riyer near Churchill; his leaving will be a serious loss to tho district, not only from his being a good clork, but having some knowledge of surveying and being always ready and willing to assist, tho Board with the work out of doors as well as in, and tho pay being a mere trifle in compaii.'on to tile work done. For the last, week in this district ivehavo been getting some very hot weather, and as all the grain and hay harvest work is now over, a good rain would be very welcome to the pasture laud.
