COMMUTATION OF THE SENTENCE. [by telegraph.—own corkkspondest], Auckland, Last Night. At a meeting of the Executivo held last evening, at which there were present His Excellency the Governor, and the Hons. Buckley and O-idman, it was resolved to grant the prayer id the Chrisfcchurch petition asking for commutation of the death sentence passed on the Flanagans, mother and daughter, for child murder, to imprisonment for life.
