MR SEDDON'S STUD LINCOLN FLOCK.
— ■ - As a testimony to the liijjh estimation in which Mr Seddon's, of Knight >u, stud rams sire hold, we 111 ty mention that Mr Middleton, of Papakura Valley, a breeder of Lincoln sheep of hisrh repute for the last twenty years or mure, attended the ram <>le it Ohanno for the porpo.se of purchasing stud sheep. Mr Middleton some four years ago bought some of Mr Seddon s rams and h.is continued to use them since. \|- the sale Mr Middl/ym could not see any .'mini il that hi: fancied as .suitable for his purpo-es but before leaving Wuikato however, he decided to pay ii visit to Seddon. having been so well satisfied with lila r a*. 1 \ii ins piirehasi S from this pentlemen, with the result that he bought four rain I tilths at five guineas each, although he had reallv ie(|Uired only two. In the course of Conversation Mr Middleton very candidly admitted that ill' Seddon's stud sheep wore a lone; way before those of any other breeder in this part of the colony, for weight and quality of fleece and purity of lin.'apte. .Air Seddon's flock is almost pure Ivii ldiain with ,1 strain of Pudding. Tiio pedigree of car.h shcop has boon carefully recorded, tracing tliem bank for twenty fenerations or noro to their costly imported ancestors, this, to the breeders of high-class stock is a factor of very considerable importance. When this becomes mora generally known it will give a value to Mr Seddon's flock possessed only by one or two others in the colony, and will in s ime measure compensate Mr Seddon for all the cue, labour and judgment bestowed upon ' his flock during past yeara when sheep were a drug in the market, and during which period a number of high-glass flocks were scattered in all directions, and their value as puro sheep entirely lost sight of.
