WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
Thk ordinary monthly meeting of tlie aboveniinied board was hold last Saturday, in tho Board's office, Xnttinglnm Castle Hotel, Morrinsviile.—Present: Messrs W. P. Chepmell (in the chair), J. Horrell, li, Pan-, and J. Turnbull.- Mr Harrison interviewed the board with the view of obtaining assistance to bring up tho outfall dtlch to take the water from the Tanhae road loading to Tiuipiri. He finds that the ditch, instead of costing about KSO, as ho expected, will cost about i'liO. The I'.uard decided to (jive .yiO towards the cost of the work.—The Engineer reported that lie had in<peetod Jenkins'road, leading to Motumaoho railway station, and found that tho ti-tn;e will require to be cat, and several sets of pipes put in. It was resolved that the engineer net the work rlono.—Mr Parr reported that Thaxter's road is very much in want of repairs, which, it was considered, would cost about >-.''i. Taylor, wishing the board to set the work of widening and deepening Johmou's Creek drain done, before the winter lains CM.H3 on The Hmrd decided to again call for tenders for the work, provider) all those who promi-id subscriptions and assistance are still prepared I" inllil their promise. The Clerk was instructed lo write to tli'j parties 1:1 q lestion, and if a favourable reply i-: ree.-ived from them, instruct the engineer to call for tenders, to be in at next board meeting.
