CRICKET.
A match was played at Taupiri. or January 31st, between the Taupiri Oncket Club and a team from Huntly. Taupiri was considerably weakened through the absence of their captain, Mr K. I\. Cos, and several Huntly members of tho Taupiri club playing for their town, but they made a good fight and only lost the gami: by one run. The wicket was treacherous owing to the recent rain, and small seorss were made in consequence. I V,r Huntly Me.-.srs (ileesnn, Williams and Kuller wore the chief scorors with 11, 7, and 7 respectively, tho innings closing for -12. r.'nr Taupir; T.athgate 11 and Dr. Lnwry S' proved most successful. In bowline Uathgate took live wickets for L'L', and Campbell I for 13, while for Huntly Connolly took IJ for 13 and Lockhart -1 for ]5. Tho Taupiri innings closed for-11 run*. Taupiri will play Morrinsville on their own ground, on tho 14th, and Tuhikaramoa at Ngaruawahia, on the 21st. Up to the present no data has boen lixed for the Patorangi match.
