Lovki.y weather was experienced for the opening day of the Wellington Racing Club's Summer meeting, and the attendance was larger than has been seen at the Mutt tor some years, it being estimated that 3000 persons were present. In the Hack Race, won by Uloonee, a sensational dividend of £131 3s was paid, there being seven investors on him, mostly in shares.
