Those were tins only horse* that started, nnd, after a good race, Cracksman won on the post by lialf-a-length. , Maiden Plate.—Sccptre-s, 1: <■ lengarry, 2; Patty, 3. This race was a pift to Sceptres*, beating Glengarry by about ten lengths, the latter being about the same distance in front of Patty, who beat Butcherboy for third place. A protest was entered against Sceptress, on the grounds of not being a maiden, which was sustained, and the race was given to GlenRa \VMATAWHATA Handicap.—Lonely, ]; Cracksman, 2; Grace Darling, ,1. Ibis was about the best race of the day, Lonely lying about tt.ird till half-a-inilu from home, when he came to the front and won hard held, Cracksman being about two lengths in front of Grace Darling. Mamma also started, but ran oil' the course before ho had gone 100 yu'ds. Se'lti.eks' Race.—Masher, 1; Wild Hoy, 2 ; Matamata, 3. This race was wnn easily by Masher, but he was disqualified for running inside a post. Maohi Women's Hack Hack. — This was the next race ™ the programme, but it fell through. Laches' 15iiACEi.nr.— Lonely, 1; Masher, 2 ; Mararoa, 3. Lonely won this easily, Masher bping a good second "ti sufferance.
