At a meeting of the United Manawatu Masonic Lodge 1721 E.G., it was rusolved that although the Lodge lias expressed its alleganco to the Grand Lodge of England, yet the members shared the feolina' of regret expressed by Lord Onslow with reference to the present dissensions among Masons and would gladly hoar of a plan for their icmoval. NEW PLYMOUTH. Last Night. The Governor and party arrived here last night. They were welcomed by Colonel titiipp and the mayor and councillors. The party loft at oigbt o'clock this morning to scale Mount Eginont. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. A girl named Julia Lelirore, daughter of Jules Lelirore, was thrown from her horse atGougli'sliay, Bank's Peninsula, yesterday and killed. Mr E. AV. Humphreys has acceded to a l'equest to stand for the Northwest "Ward in the City Council. Mr W. J. Ballinger, President of tbc Carrier's 'society, opposes Wm. Messrs J. A. Bird and 11. Le Yoi were also nominated, but have withdrawn.
