Farnell, founder of tha eiirlit hours' movement. He, however, is in a procarious condition and little hopes of his recovery are entertained.

At the Supremo Court, to-day, Edward John Robinson, in who-e « :»a the jury was unable to acme, at l.st t-« ! son<, was agw'n tried upon the indictment, charging him with embezzling; various sum* of money of the Customs Department, in which ho was tlienein'>l'yed. The jury returned a verdict of "Not Guilty," and tlr; accused wis discharged. This was trio last cu.se of the oriniinal calendar.
