Gentlemen— Having decided to withdraw from the present contest for the Te Aroha seat, I take this opportunity of thanking those who promised me their votes and support. Yours faithfully, G. VESEY STEWART. mO THE ELECTORS OF THE ■*• PARLIAMENTARY DISTRICT OF TE AROHA. Gentlemen,— I deeply regret that at tho last moment important family and business arrangements, which I am obliged to make before leaving England, have compelled me to remain here a little longer than I had intended. I am exceedingly sorry for this, although I fear that if I had arrived in Auckland on the Bth of November, as I fully expected to have done, I should have been too late for the Election. Under these circumstances, if the contest has not already taken place, I must leave my candidature entirely in your hands. If you do mo the honour to elect me during my absence, as a resident in the constituency, I shall at all times bo ready to do my utmost to further your local interests ; and iu your House of Representatives 1 shall also do my best to support those, principles of Economy, Retrenchments, and Financial Reform, which aeem to me to be essential to the future welfare and prosperity of your beautiful Islands. If, however, you do not on this occasion do mo the honour to choose me as your Representative, I hope at the next Election to offer myself again as a Candidate for the Te Aroha District.
