London, November 19. A committee of merchants' and bunks interested in the Argentine Republic stocks with the Bank of England, held an enquiry to-day into the best means of affording iinancial assistance to that Republic in order to enable them to tide over the present iinancial difficulty. November 20. It is reported that Lord Roseberry, backed by a strong committee, will undertake the task of re-adjusting the finances of the Argentine. The Rothschilds arc willing to accept the agency, provided they arc given the control of the Government.
