Th re wera two ridings contested in this county, the Karioi and Onewhero. In the former great interest was taken, there being no less than six candidates for tho two vacancies. Notwithstanding the wet day, a good many ratepayers attended at the booth and recorded their votes, and there was also a considerable number at tho booth when the poll was declared, the result being E.
