RAGLAN COUNTY.
Th re wera two ridings contested in this county, the Karioi and Onewhero. In the former great interest was taken, there being no less than six candidates for tho two vacancies. Notwithstanding the wet day, a good many ratepayers attended at the booth and recorded their votes, and there was also a considerable number at tho booth when the poll was declared, the result being E. B. Ilill, in; 0. Sutton, .1!). (olected): W. I*. Cogswell, 2-1; R. Billington, 7 ; J. K. McDonald, 0; C. Johnstone, 2. Chears nnd counter cheers were given for the successful p.nd unsuccessful candi dateH. In the Onewhero riding for tho one teat there wero two aspirants, and the poll lesulted in the election of Mr G. S. Whiteside, who defeated the lat.o member Mr T. II unfc by 15 votes to 3.
