HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
As adjourned meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council was held at the Chambers after the Domain Board meeting on Tuesday night. Present : His Worship the Mavor, Mr I. Coales, in the chair, and Crs. D<y, Tippen, Wood, Bell, Reid, Slade, Purr and Scott.
FoitKMAN ok WoiiKS.—There were eleven applications for the position of Foreman of Works, viz., John Dixon, Charles Rogers, Thomas Holtnn, James Winter, Josenh ClHj'ton (Xgarn.iwahirt), Robert Mines, Thomas King, William Andrew, Steven Tucker. Duncan Mclntyre, senr., and Israel Pevreal. The voting was by billot, nnd resulted in the appointment of Robert Hines, the milliters recorded being : Hines, (i vutes; Dixon, 2; King 1, tho others not receiving any. Bitirai:.— The clerk was instructed to call for tenders for sweeping the traffic bridge. Tins concluded the business.
