Mkdical.— Tlio natives at Rotoiti have just subscribed amongst themselves tlio sum of £10, for the purpose of providing .1 utoek of medicine. Tlio money has been handed to Mr Broderick, who, in addition to his scholastic duties, is also medical adviser, and is therefore held in hierh esteem amongat the natives. Tangi.—A large tangi took placa last week at Murea, on the occasion of the death of Tamati, a, leading chief of the Ngatipilcao. The Makbtu Flax-mii.ls.—Owing to the suspension of operations for a few weeks at the iMaketu flax-mills, a large number of natives huvo been returning to Rotorua. Land Couiits. —Two Land Courts are sitting here. One is presided over by the Ohiof Judge, who is making enquiries into the demands made by a section of the Ngatiwhao for a re-lvwr-ing of Waiotapn, after which evidence for the satnn purpose will be taken in connection with the Kawuha block. The Court will probably finish ito sitting about the end of thn week, wlion the Chief Judge will proceed to Auckland, and return here about the beginning of January, for the pnrpoao of holding an enquiry into the claim sot forth by the Tulnirangi, for a ro-lioaring ot Whakarnwarewa. Judge Wilson is making satisfactory progress in individualising titloa to small blocks around Rotorua. Damask kv Floou.—Part of the road and the approach to tho Atiamuri bridge lias been washed away. Mr Murpliy, road overseer, has taken steps to put it in order without delay.
