RAILWAY CHARGES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sin,—Mr W. A. Murray writing to the railway authorities with regard to additional conveninncees at Ratigiriri station, concludes with the following suggestions : — " I wish that the Railway Department would arraiu'O to lot us him trucks by distance without the injurious and vexations multiplication of classitication. The limit of weight pur truck being strictly enforced, if exceeded, an extra truck being charged for. The trucks to be loaded and unloaded by consignors and consignees respectively orcharged for by the Department. No dangerous or offensive stuff to be sent, except by special arrangement. The rates on commodities to bo adjusted by per Crtiitage discounts for say manures, minerals, farm produce, etc., with distance discounts to favour longer distance customers."—l am, etc. Wsi, Aitcn.
