The Slaughtermen's Union will remain passive anf 5 . allow the members of the unio i to be looked out. It is understood that batchers refuse to cut up meat killed by free labour. London, October Tl. The Trades Union Congress has sent £1000 to Australia, by cable, and the Sailor's Union is also arranging to lend £1000. Mr Murphy has cabled home that Mr Champion is an enemy of the labour party, and that the strikers are still struggling, and will win if assistance is offered. CintiSTcnupon, Last Night. A meeting took place yesterday between the Shipping Committee whicli works the Port of Lyttelton and authorised representatives of the Miners' Union of New Zealand, and the Federated Wharf Labourers' and Sea-' men's Union. The proceedings were kept strictly private, but it is believed that the result of the meeting practice ally terminates the strike.
