SPORTING.
FltOJi a private telegram received by Mr W. Booth, from his brother, who, it will be remembered, went over to Sydney a few months back, taking with him the ponies Lottery and Ti?er 11., we learn that Lottery scored a win and broke the record. No particulars as to the name ctf the race or the distance are given in the cablegram. This i> the first time Lottery has started on the other side, and she no doubt has convinced the "Cornstalks" lhat she is a regular flyer, fur puny racing Ins reached such a high stiiiie there that to break a record now n horse must be » real good one. This, Lottery proved herself to be in New Zealand by the way in which she telescoped thu field in various events, and she has, frjtn the above, ably sustained her reputation in Australia. We wish Mr Booth every success.
