In the Legislative Assembly notice of motion has been given that an address be presented to Her Majesty, praying that the Government be informed of the intended appointment of a Governor to the colony before the appointment is finally made. Mkljioukkk, August 5. In the House to-day, Mr Munro, leader of the Opposition, moved that the financial accounts are manifestly unreliable, and that they be referred back to the Government for correction. Mr Gillies, Premier, announced that the motion would.be.treated as one of want-of-confidence. Brisbane, August 1. At a public meeting resolutions were passed protesting against the imposition of a property tax. Several murders by blacks'arc reported from Cloncurry.
