YATES AND CO., SEEDSMEN.

Wi; have lately received a copy of an illustrated catalogue of garden seeds recently issued by tho well-known need merchants Messrs Yates and Co., Manchester, Kugland, and with extensive branch establishments in .Sydnoy aud.luckland. I n passing we might say that thin linu enjoys a very high reputation in Waikato for the excellency of the quality of their seeds. The catalogue above referred to was designed and printed in Syduey by Messrs Aldmrst and Co., and it does tho linn of lithographers great credit, as for general get up and beauty and taste in the designing, it is quite equal to anything of the kind pot up in Kngland. Messrs Yates and Co., although an .Kuglish linn, make a point of getting all their printing etc., dono in the colonies. Tho order for the catalogue under notice was for ~jO,UOO, a good line for the fortunato printer. Accompanying the catalogue was a circular giving the particulars of a great intercolonial root and vegetable competition which Messrs Yates ami Co., are oiganisitig for the season IS'.)O-!)1. The value of the prizes to be distributed is >;li"», varying from .£0 to 4J15 for general garden vegetables. The rules to guide the competition are easily complied with, and are such that any settler or cottaga gardener can easily understand and work under.
