LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS.
(BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last Night. At Petone on Saturday, during the football match between Wellington and Te Puui, Wilford, captain of the latter team, had his leg broken. In the new scale of charges issued by the Railway Commissioners an important alteration has been made which has escaped public notice, no particular attention having been directed to it at the time. On and after July Ist return tickets will again be issued as follows :—Under 20 miles, available till day after issue ; over 20 and under 300 miles, one month : over 300. two rnonthß. Over 200 miles the journey may be broken at any station. The price will be the usual Saturday scale, fare and a third. The police have received information from Otaki that Thomas Walker (aged 18) was drowned yesterday while crossing the Kulcu Creek on horseback.
