(BY TELEGItAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last Night. At the Education Board this morning Mr T. K. Fleming M.A., formerly one of the masters nfc Wellington College, and who has lately been practising as a solicitor here was appointed assistant inspector The bridge over the Buller river at Lyoll ie costing more than was expected. A large sum extra was put on the estimates last year and it is now found at least three thousand pounds more will be required. It has been finally decided to appeal to the Privy Council in the now famous case, Poaka and Ward, and the necessary security has been given. The decision of the Appeal Court in this trial had the effect of upsetting a large number of native titles in the North Island.
The Hutt County Council have the bailiffs in being unable to pay the costs incurred in testing the legality of thoir a«tion in erecting toll-gates.
