[liY TELEGRAM! — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Auckland, Last Night. The Mararoa broke all previous records on her passage from Gisborno by completing the voyage in twenty and three-quarter hours. At the Supreme Court the criminal sessions opened to-day. Tho Judge in his charge to tho Grand Jury summed up the cases in the calendar but none were of special interest. Patrick Malier pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods and was admitted to probation. In the case of Frederick Collard, charged with horsestealing, the grand jury threw out the bill. George Olune, for stealing a saddle, was sentenced to three years. David Dines Kussell was sentenced to twelve months for breaking and or.teving a store in Dur-ham-street. John Whittingham pleaded guilty to forgiug and uttering. Sentence was deferred. At the City North Licensing meeting, all the applications to re-open hotels previously closed by the temperance committee were withdrawn. Tho ordinary applications for renewals Avere granted in every case.
