[BY TIiLIiOUAI'II.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Last Night. The Hawkes Bay County Council, yesterday, passed a resolution undertaking to make and maintain the road to Taupo via Waipuna and Teharoto, and build a new bridge across Mohataa, provided the Government grant a subsidy of £2,500. This new route avoids the worst features of the present Taupo road, of which tourists complain. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. - A number of medical men waited on the Mayor to-day, and urged the advisableness of again bringing the Contagious Diseases Act into operation here. They asserted that its suspension had seriously affected the health and morality of the city. The Mayor promised to bring the matter before the City Coungil,
