Prices for grown steers in fresh condition were lower than the previous fortnight, and ranged from £3 12s to £4; 2.J-year-nld steers, Rnanni-bred, passed at £i 15s, £3 3s being wanted ; yearlings, 255; steer calves, 17s; empty cows, 15s to 255; good young empty cows, 32s Cd. Beef: best steers, £5 15s to £l>; second-quality, £-1 5s to £4 15s; fat cows up to £3 10s. Sheep: prime, fat 2 tooths, 15s Gd ; prime lambs, lis 9d ; store lambs, 6s to 7s ; merino ewes in lamb, 5s 7d ; cio3s-bred ewesin lamb, 7s to 8s (id ; poor ewes, in lamb 5s ; good cross-bred wethers, largo proportion good mutton, lis; good merino wethers, many of them mutton, 7s Gd to 7s lid; store merino wethers, ss; 2-torath crossbred wethers, 8s 9d. Maro by Nariakia, foal at foot by imported arab stallion Crusader, £(> 10s. Sheep dogs that were advertised sold privately aftor the sale at from £3 to £G. We have to arrive this month and next, 2000 merino owes, 2000 ir.erino and cross-bred wethers, and 0000 tjood cross-bred ewes from Loch Inver and Tahurua.
