LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS.
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington. Last Night. Rumour is current that J. H. Richardson, Secretary to the Accountant in the Government Insurance Department is to succeed Mr Franklaud as Actuary, but the Premier states the question of his successor has not yet been discussed and that the Cabinet will be called together at an early date to consider the matter. It is probable that the Sweating Coinmission will conclude its sittings here this evening. Mr G. B. Davy, District Land Registrar, and formerly District Judee for Wellington and Wairarapa, has been appointed arbitrator by the Trades and Labour Council in the Woollen Company's dispute. No witnesses presented themselves before the Sweating Commission for examination this morning. It is understood that at the annual meeting of the Colonial Insurance Company, on the 14th prox., the directors will recommend the payment of a 10 per cent, dividend.
