PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Meeting.
A special meeting of the above Council was held at Cambridge on Saturday, at 11 a.m. PresentCrs. Chepmell (chairman) Mills, Murphy, Williams, Hunt, and Hanmor. The meeting was called to enable Cr. Mills to bring his motion, regarding the main road through Te Aroha, before the Council again, it being found that tne resolution carried at the last special ineeting of the Council, vesting the control of the road in the Te Aroha Town Board had been done in a manner that left a doubt as to the legality of the proceeding.—Cr. Mills accoidingly again moved a resolution in that direction, which Cr. Murphy seconded. —The chairman thought the best way out of the difficulty would be for the Council to subsidise the Town Board, they (the Board) on their part undertaking to keep the road and footpaths in a good state of repair.— Cr. Mills said the Town Board would be willing to accept that way out of the difficulty, and, with the consent of his seconder, . withdrew the motion.—Cr. Hanmer a train mentioned Bridge-Street, and it was agreed to also include that street in the subsidy.
