NEW ZEALAND RAILWAY RETURNS.
(by telegraph—press association). Wellington, Last Night. The actual cash receipts of the railway's financial year, according to the Treasury reports, are £1,092,000. The amount of the working expenses have not yet been compiled, but the Commissioners are certain that the nett revenue will be quite £400,000. This will enable 3 per cent, to be paid on capital invested, and such a result has only once previously been obtained since the railways were inaugurated in the colony.
