An electric disturbance) was noticeable in this district on Sunday aftomdo'n and night, arid local showers fell in some parts of tlie district, viz., at Rnapnke and elsewhere, but in other parts not a drop of rain fell. The thunder showers soon fussed awaytravelling northward down the coast.—On Monday morning the horizon was quite clear tor a while, the atmosphere much cooler, and more pleasant, both Karioi and Pirongia could be seen without a cloud, but towards afternoon once more smoke became the order of the day, and elopm ,; again prevailed. Unless rain comes, soon the outlook will become serious, especially as tho fires have consumed so much grass.
